      An administrator gives her perspective on the audition process and writes about what qualities the program looks for in young opera singers.

    • Alexander Technique

    • Fitzmaurice Voicework
      I think of Fitzmaurice Voicework as a form of yoga created specifically for professional voice users.
    • Women's Health
      WH's website is a wonderful resource on health and exercise. I highly recommend their quick workout sequences as a way to stay in shape on a busy schedule!
    • Yoga Journal
      This site is a great resources for anyone who practices - or wants to start practicing - yoga. Experienced yogis can practice to YJ's excellent podcasts (http://www.yogajournal.com/podcast/) or create and save their own sequences.

    • The Rest is Noise / Alex Ross
      Music isn’t easy to describe in words, but Ross (music critic for the New Yorker) is a uniquely gifted writer and musical thinker. I also highly recommend his book of the same title.
    • think denk / Jeremy Denk
      Cleverly titled (“denk” is German for “think”), this blog offers insightful thoughts on music-making from a concert pianist with an international career.

      The blogosphere is full of financial advice, but this is my favorite money blog. Tips on frugal living should be of special interest to starving artist types.

      Dr. Jahn is an otolaryngologist and a monthly columnist for Classical Singer magazine.
    • VoiceProblem.org / various
      You can't trust everything you read on the web, but this site is a trustworthy resource by top vocal physicians. The guide to finding a vocal physician is especially helpful.
  • Musicianship

    • PracticeSpot
      Practice Spot is full of online resources for music teachers and their students. Check out the Rhythm Machine, Scales Chef, Sight Reading Chef, and Sight Reading Genie.
    • Rehearsal Pianist
      Rehearsal Pianist specializes in musical theater accompaniment tracks. The site is based in the UK, and prices start around £3.99 or about $6.00.
    • Your Accompanist - rehearsal tracks for singers
      This site is great for classical singers who need to prepare a song, but don't have the time or funds to hire a coach/accompanist. You can download the piano accompaniment to numerous classical songs for a few dollars apiece.

    • Singer Network
      A service of Chorus America, this site offers excellent articles and resources for choral singers.
    • San Francisco Classical Voice (SFCV)
      SFCV is "dedicated to intelligent, professional, and thorough critical coverage of the rich classical music scene ... in the Bay Area." The site just received a makeover.
    • Classical Voice of North Carolina
      North Carolina's answer to SFCV.
    • Boston Singers Resource
      This is an excellent networking site for singers in New England. Fortunately, it also includes articles and forums of interest to singers everywhere.
